Important info How To Know If You Are Qualified For JAMB Mock Exam, 2018

How To Know If You Are Qualified For JAMB Mock Exam, 2018
By now, we're sure you all know that the JAMB Mock Exam for the 2017 UTME has been confirmed to hold on February 26th, 2018.
Many UTME candidates seem not to know if they are qualified to partake in the mock examination or not.
Let’s quickly clear the confusion so you know if you are qualified or not.
In as much as a lot of you would like to write the Mock Exam, not everyone is entitled to write it.
If you did not select to write the exam during registration, you are simply not qualified to partake in the mock examination.
Also, if you are unable to print you mock exam slip or get a notification from JAMB concerning the mock exam schedule; it equally means you are not qualified for the mock exam.
Whatever be the case, you do not have anything to worry about. You can have same mock exam experience by downloading and practicing with the JAMB CBT Mobile AppJAMB CBT Software for Computer Systems or by using the Free Online JAMB CBT Exam Platform
I believe this has helped to clear the confusion. However, if you have any more questions concerning the mock exam, please post it as a comment so the community can help you.

Admission Officers Beg JAMB To Extend 2017 Admission Deadline

Admission Officers Beg JAMB To Extend 2017 Admission Deadline
The admission officers of the University of Jos and Bauchi State University, Haroma Emmanuel and Babani Sani have appealed to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board JAMB to extend the deadline for 2017 Admissions.
This is coming after the Board announced January 25th as the deadline for all 2017 Admissions.
However, According to JAMB Registrar Prof Is-haq Oloyede, the admission deadline still stands.
Meanwhile, the ongoing strike action by the non-academic staff of universities has been identified as the reason over 600,000 candidates are yet to gain admission.
In this regard, Prof Oloyede, has called on NASU to strike a deal with the FG in order to call -off the strike action as soon as possible because it might lead to the postponment of the 2018 UTME as some of the centres to be used for the exam are located within the university campuses.

JAMB Recommends 1.6 Million Candidates For 2017 Admission

JAMB Recommends 1.6 Million Candidates For 2017 Admission
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disclosed that out of the 1.6 million candidates that the board recommended for admission in the 2017/2018 Academic session, only about 500,000 candidates have accepted their admission.
This happens to be far beyond the number recorded in previous years. According to the JAMB Head of media, Dr Fabian, the reason for this is due to the flexibility in cut-off marks as well as the introduction of the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).
The admission process ended January 25th, 2018. However, candidates can still accept their admission on the JAMB portal. This means that the remaing 1.1 candidates who are yet to accept their admission can still do so.
He expressed optimism that schools will comply with the deadline as most of the school have already completed their admision process while those that are yet to fully complete theirs are at 95% completion.

JAMB Warns Telecom Companies Not To Defraud Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned telecommunication service providers to stop multiple charges on candidates attempting to register for the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
It noted that nobody must suffer for the providers’ poor network service.
The JAMB said on Thursday that it would insist on a refund by the service providers which defrauded candidates.
The board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, in a statement, said the providers must stick to the agreement reached with the board. Benjamin said, “We have heard about multiple Short Messaging Service charges on
candidates’ phone numbers attempting to register for the 2018 UTME and the Direct Entry
by the telecommunications companies.
These companies were enlisted to provide a profile code creation service through sending and receiving of SMS. “The telecom companies are to charge only N50 per SMS to use the service.
Candidates are made to repeat these SMS commands several times either due to poor network or processing failure after the command is sent. “The board therefore advises telecom service providers to stop the multiple charges and stick to the agreement reached with the board.
Candidates who are victims of these multiple charges are to raise a complaint for redress and further action by the board. “The board would insist on a refund by any telecoms provider that continue to charge these candidates twice.
We are mindful of the nation’s network challenges and do not expect the candidates to pay for the telecoms infrastructural difficulties.”
